What Cainiao solves
Cainiao aggregates tracking, pickup and sending across many couriers and shopping platforms. It is useful when parcels are split between a station, locker and doorstep and the shopping apps no longer provide one clear inbox.
Build a reliable address
Use the official Chinese compound name, building, unit, room and the mobile number tied to your account. Add a short delivery note for the real gate, reception or parcel room.

Understand the four destinations
A parcel may reach your door, a staffed Cainiao station, a smart locker such as Fengchao or another community collection point.

Find the pickup information
Read the arrival message for station name, address, code and deadline. Cainiao can link supported shopping accounts or phone-number parcels; the official app listing also describes barcode, tracking-number and image-recognition lookup.
Collect safely and efficiently
Use the pickup code, identity code or station scan required locally. Verify the recipient name and package count before leaving. Never post a live pickup code in a public group.
Home delivery may be selectable
For eligible Taobao or Tmall parcels, the Cainiao app can show a doorstep-delivery option. Availability depends on parcel, station and local service, so check the current package rather than assuming every parcel qualifies.
Start returns at the retailer
Open the original order and obtain the authorized return flow first. Then choose doorstep pickup, station drop-off or another generated option. Do not independently ship to an address from private chat.
Return handover checklist
Seal the correct item with its accessories, photograph it, retain the courier or drop-off record and enter the tracking number if the platform does not synchronize automatically. Track the refund after delivery.
When a parcel is missing
Check all collection points and the courier status, then contact the courier or platform from the order. Do not mark an order received merely because the system says delivered if you cannot locate it.
